Domain name acquisitions

Is the domain name you want already registered?

The domain name industry like any other is not for the uninitiated. There are esentially 2 types of domain name owners, Domain investors and End users.

Domain name investors trade in domain names with some investors operating on a ROI basis where domain names are bought and resold to other investors(domainers) in a short space of time for an acceptable return. This is commonly known in the industry as “flipping”. Like any other investment vehicle, there are those domainers who spend large sums of money to acquire “premium domains” that they hold onto until an end user is found and sold at the highest possible level.

Domain name valuation is not a science and domain name owners seek out  ”end users” in an attempt to maximise their return.

It is important when acquiring domain names on the secondary market to make use of a broker who is known in the industry. With a sound knowledge of every day trading activities and prices being paid, a broker will be in a position to advise you at what level a single domain name or a portfolio of domain names is likely to sell for.
